Lauren Speed has been a life long student of fashion, trends, theater, art, modeling and acting. Receiving her B.S degree in Electronic Media and film she was able to combine her industry experience and background in media to create THATDAME.COM
The title THATDAME was inspired by Lauren’s desire to capture a cutting edge sophistication to share with her audience. The site features relevant content in an alternative voice; featuring everything from news, fashion, art, entertainment, music, lifestyle and health.
About ThatDame’s creator Lauren Speed
Being the daughter of an industry heavy weight influenced Lauren at an early age. Her father editor, producer, and also creator of BET’s video soul introduced Lauren to the entertainment industry at a young age. “Music was a huge staple in my childhood, our family lived off of music.. Literally” Theater and the arts was always a focal point in the Speed household. “I was in dance classes by 4, vocal and acting lessons by 8 and radio programs by 10. I’ve always had a deep appreciation for the arts and the beauty in all things creative. The industry has always felt like home to me.” Although involved in numerous aspects of the industry Lauren found her claim to fame through her modeling career she has appeared in several large publications, Runway shows, Ads as well as cover girl of one of the largest biker magazines in the world, music videos and featured by some of the most popular magazines in the country.
